Important News

This is a super-important announcement. Brace yourselves. Relient K will be replacing tobyMac as the Saturday night headliner on the Gotee Records Main Stage. We’ll explain after the jump.

We got word from tobyMac’s management that he has been double-booked during AgapeFest weekend. They tried to get around their error, but it didn’t work out for him to be in two places at once. We are a little really put out by this news, as you can imagine, especially since we’re only 2 months out from the festival. In an effort to keep you still planning to come out, Relient K has been nice enough to fill our headlining slot on Saturday night.

If you’ll remember two years ago, Relient K had a bit of a rain-out and had to cut their set short. Well, they’re coming to finish that show. We are super excited to have the RK guys back out - even if it is at the expense of tobyMac having to cancel.

I understand there may be some concern or frustration from you guys about these events. Believe me, we feel them too here at AgapeFest HQ. We are hoping to have an official statement from Toby’s management soon, which we will post here for you all to read.

  3. I can’t believe that TobyMac is not going to be their. I just might cry (just kidding). I was so looking forward to see him in concert again. Well at least I get to see Hawk Nelson and The Afters. My little brother is going to be so sad when I tell him that TobyMac isn’t going to be their but he loves Hawk Nelson. Anyway, maybe you can get TobyMac and FF5 next year and Relient K is nice but TobyMac is way better.

  4. MUCH HAPPIER!!!!!! I was there two years ago when Relient K got rained out! BUMMER! all I can say is… PRASIE GOD!!!! I was already going to go this year, but not im actually EXCITED about saturday night! No offense to tobymac. The only thing that could make this event better would to have The Wedding and Stellar Kart playing as well! Thanks for the post guys, it made my night fantastic!!!

  7. haha! yea reliant k is much better than toby mac! i agree with rachel the wedding and stellar kart would be awesome. now barlow girl needs to cancel and you guys should get skillet or the almost or falling up that would be so amazing.

  8. I must say i was a little disappointed. I love Relient K and all but I’ve seen them a lot! I was really excited to see tobyMac because I’ve heard how awesome his show is.

    We don’t have control over tobyMac’s website, so it’s probably because his web staff haven’t gotten to updating the dates yet. That’s just my guess. You’d have to ask him/his webteam about it to get the real answer.

  17. Don’t get me wrong, I like TobyMac and all… but unless he was planning a secret DC Talk reunion for Agape’s show, Relient K gets my vote hands down.
