A Blog from Chris, #1
Hey AgapeFest Friends!
We all hope your summer has been treating you well! I am Chris Emanuel, the Assistant Director of AgapeFest. The AgapeFest staff and I took a little time off to take a break and breathe, but things are starting up for AgapeFest 2010 already.
A couple weekends ago, AgapeFest Staff, Greenville College, and WIBI Radio teamed up to sponsor Family Faith Night at the Gateway Grizzlies game. The event included tickets to the game, and a free show from Sanctus Real. Our friends in Sanctus Real got caught in a baggage mix up though. They showed up with only a couple guitars, a laptop, and one had a change of clothes. Despite the airport mix up, everything went great! The band played a great set, and we talked to a lot of really cool people about AgapeFest!
This weekend, a few of us headed out to Rock The River on the Arch Grounds in St. Louis. The PR and Hospitality gals, along with some admissions counselors from GC worked a booth down on the river. They met a lot of new friends, and got a lot of good feedback for the festival. In addition to that, Brent, our Director of Security, and I shadowed some security personnel. Mike and Paul, two of Rock The River Security Captains were kind enough to let Brent and me run around with them all day. We got to see the festival from every angle, and were able to help out in a lot of situations. The two of us gained experience in handling medical emergencies, security emergencies, and a few other things. We picked up a lot of valuable experience, along with many ideas to bring back to AgapeFest.
In addition to those big things, the Director and I have been bouncing e-mails back and forth throughout the summer. We have been discussing the future of the festival, and we are both very excited for this year’s show. However, the two of us cannot do it all by ourselves, and we can’t even do it with the help of our amazing staff. WE NEED YOU!
Yes, we do need YOU! And all of your friends! We need your help brainstorming ideas for our lineup next year. We need ideas for our big headlining artist, bands for early in the day, stage 2, coffee house! Any band, big or small, suggest them to us! Shoot us an e-mail, twitter, or FB message with a link We would also love any feedback you have about vendors, camping, recreation, ministry, second stage, and more! Our only request is that if you have criticisms of our festival, please present them constructively. We would love to have dialogue with all of you in order to make AgapeFest 2010 the best AgapeFest yet!
Please e-mail us at info@agapefest.com I will be checking this e-mail regularly and I will to my best to reply to each of you that helps us out!

Let the festival staff know what bands you really liked from the last few years that you want to see come back for 2010.
Needtobreathe, Remedy Drive, LeCrae, Spoken, House of Heroes, Eleventyseven, Children 18:3.
Let us know who you want or don’t want!
We also love new ideas for bands! If they haven’t played Agape ever but are getting good tour dates around the U.S. we’d love to check them out and look into those artists!
We are here to put on a good show for you, the fans!
I really like Copeland, not to mention they put on a good live show, and I know a lot of non-believers and believers who like them, as well as Showbread, MewithoutYou, and Family Force 5.
I thought Bradley Hatahway would be interesting, mostly because I’m assuming he still recites poetry, and it’s kind of differnt.
As for bands that aren’t so big I really enjoyed Dear Future two years ago, and liked Susan Shepherd at the late night coffee house last year.
FAMILY FORCE 5!!!!
I would love to see some of the following come to Agape
Everyday Sunday- LOVED THEM
Nevertheless
Needtobreathe
December Radio- love thier new song out
21:03 (They are gospel, be great to bring in some gospel/r&b flavor)
I think you probably should bring a worship band or two as well. We need more variety than just all rock bands.
I will be there no matter what if Needtobreathe comes!!! =]
Eleventy Seven should come back also!
I would love for Skillet and Hawk Nelson to come back for sure! Also, downhere, fireflight, remedy drive, family force 5, and sarah reeves

Demon Hunter.
They have a new album coming out early 2010, and it would be the perfect opportunity to get them to do the show. It would be the perfect moment to solidify my freshman year here at Greenville College as AWESOME.

Emery, Anberlin, Copeland, RED, The Rocket Summer would all be absolutely amazing to see!!!
Thousand Foot Krutch, Hawk Nelson, Red, Skillet, and Demon Hunter would be amazing
