Jars of Clay in Concert

Greenville College alums Jars of Clay will be playing in concert Friday, April 8th at St. Matthews United Methodist Church in Belleville, IL. In support of their 11th studio album The Shelter, Jars of Clay will be taking the stage with supporting acts Matt Maher, Derek Webb, and Audrey Assad. Hoping to draw others into their powerful onstage presence, Jars of Clay state, “In short, these songs are designed to be sung aloud, with others, within the parameters of that listener’s own shelter.”

Formed in their time at Greenville College, Jars of Clay have been a staple in the contemporary Christian music scene for years while attaining both critical and popular acclaim. They are also a frequent feature at Greenville’s own Agapefest.

Tickets are $18 dollars in advance and available to all ages through www.jarsofclay.com. The concert starts at 7 pm. For more information please visit the Jars of Clay website or St. Matthew UMC at  www.stmatthewumc.org.

More Information on Fundamental Elements

Fundamental Elements and Friends After a Mission Trip Benefit Show

As we announced last week, Stars Go Dim will be replacing the Fundamental Elements at AgapeFest 2011. We did not post the reason why the Fundamental Elements were not going to be able to perform out of respect and love for the guys. After seven years of rocking, the guys have mutually decided to call it quits.

Fundamental Elements are mostly Greenville College alumni and good friends of both the festival and the college. Back in 2006 I came to my first AgapeFest mainly because my new youth leader was twisting my arm to come out and see his cousin, Russ, play with his band (Then, The Fundamentals). Supposedly they had some crazy drummer that I needed to see to believe. I came out to the festival with a bit of a closed mind but the band awesome, the drummer was crazy and long story short, I fell in love with the festival and eventually worked my way up to be the Director of this years festival.

It’s sad for us to see them go, especially for my friends and I who have grown close to the band. But we all wish Russ, Mark, Luke and Dustin the best of luck with their new adventures. They’re all extremely talented and I’m sure you will all see their work somewhere else in the very new future!

Good luck guys,

Chris

Director

Second Stage and Third Stage and a Discounted Ticket Offer, Oh My!

Abandon - Performing on GOA Second Stage on Saturday

By adding a Third Stage this year we realized we would be attracting a whole new crowd of people to the festival.  We also realized that a lot of these new guests are more into screaming and going crazy and less into our main stage artists so we created a new ticket for them! This new ticket will allow access to our Second and Third Stage only and will be available at the gate. In order to secure the value of our full admission ticket, we will place a large security checkpoint at the entrance to the Main Stage and guests who have purchased this discounted ticket will receive a very distinct wristband. Guests that want to see artist on all three stage will still be able to with the purchase of a Full Admission wristband.

Second and Third Stage Wristband Pricing-

Two-Day: $30.00

Saturday Only: $25.00

(No Friday Only option will be available)

What do you get with your Second and Third Stage Only Wristband?
