What To Do At AgapeFest 2010:

• Visit the Prayer Tent – where you can make bracelets and get your face painted!
• Play some basketball and other games.
• Visit the artist’s at the Autograph Tent.
• Check out  the ministries and organizations we have this year!
• Catch our amazing speakers and see what they have to share.
• Camp out and experience the wonders of sleeping under the vast sky filled with stars.
• Eat a few funnel cakes and bloomin’ onions.
• Check out the artist’s merch in the pavilion.
• OH YEAH — And go listen to the up and coming bands on Second Stage like Eagle Scout and Mike’s Pawn Shop!
• Last but not least, listen to the AWESOME bands that will be playing on Main Stage — like David Crowder and Family Force 5!

Time For a Good Ole’ Fashion Battle Royale & Artists of the Day

The lines have been drawn and it’s time to battle. Today’s battle of the bands preliminary round had to eliminate five very talented bands. The winning five will live to see another day of battle, well actually another 20 days. Top five bands will meet again at AgapeFest 2010 on the second stage at 5 p.m. on Friday April 30th. All five bands are ultimately fighting for a shot at going to Word Label Group’s national talent search. In addition to that, the top two bands get to play the main stage on Saturday and the third place band gets another shot on the second stage Saturday morning.

If you want to see a good ole’ fashion battle royale come see all of them duke it out on the second stage. Friday night. 5p.m.

Artist of the Day #7: Paper Route

Paper Route

These guys are no strangers to Greenville Illinois, some of the guys even went to Greenville College before hitting the road. Paper Route has been hugely successful over the last couple of years and it is a privilege and an honor to have them at AgapeFest this year. They were part of 2008′s Final Riot Tour that was headlined by Paramore and supported by Jack’s Mannequin and Phantom Planet. Currently they are on the Owl City, LIGHTS, & Paper Route tour that has sold out every club they have played. The guys in Paper Route are going to take a night off from that tour and make a stop at AgapeFest to open up for Family Force 5 and Skillet!

Looking for something different?

We were too! The guys on Second Stage got wind of these guys called Mike’s Pawn Shop and it didn’t take very long for them to call them up and book them. If you’re into the more electronic influence rock wave that’s going on right now then you need to head over to the second stage on Saturday afternoon for these guys.

Artist of the Day #5: Burning Yesterday

We met these guys last weekend when they came out to play the AgapeFest kickoff concert. When they rolled up we knew they were cool guys. The staff was immediately introduced to their futon and couch on their new bus. Right after that they just rolled their gear in to the venue and got to work.

We’re going to try something new this year and have bands on the Second Stage on Friday evening. Burning Yesterday will be kicking off the evening concert as support for Queens Club. Hope you can check them out!

Artist of the Day #3: The Great Romance

One of the coolest parts about AgapeFest is the artists that play earlier on Friday and Saturday. We love to feature local artists that we think are close to making their big break into the scene. The Great Romance just happens to be one of those acts. They will be playing in the early afternoon on main stage on Saturday.  These guys really know what they’re doing and they do it well. We hope you all are as excited as we are to see their success at both the festival and in the future.

When we were booking this year we managed to luck out when we booked Sanctus Real. They were planning to be on tour with a few other bands this spring, Above the Golden State just happened to be one of these awesome artists so we told the tour manager to bring them all out to AgapeFest for Friday night. Also on the road with Sanctus Real will be Me In Motion and Addison Road. This will be Above the Golden State’s first time playing at AgapeFest and they are one of the acts that we are most excited about! Give them a listen.

AgapeFest Artist of the Day #1- Philmont

Philmont

We were looking for some different kind of tunes for this years festival and we ran into these cool guys from North Carolina. They named their first ep Oh Snap. How cool is that? Check them out online and then again on the main stage at AgapeFest on Saturday afternoon.
