Former Greenville College student and great friend Andy Smith has started a Kickstarter in support of his newest project, Brother Leather. His newest album, Meat Mural, is anticipated to be released in February 2012, but it can only be done with the help of fans. Remember with Kickstarter, if he doesn’t meet his goal of $6,000 he will not receive any of the funding, so be sure to go to the link here to support great music!

Greetings Friends,

I want to start by thanking all of you that have supported AgapeFest over the past few years with your prayers and hard earned money. We would not be able to pull this event off year after year if we didn’t have support from the best and most loyal fans in the Christian music industry so, I thank you!

Each year, hundreds of college students volunteer in order to make this festival happen. They all do this on top of classes, homework, clubs, friends, and all other things that college students do. Every student that served on my staff this year did that selflessly and they all took on a servant’s heart. I might have been the face that everyone got to see on stage but the people wearing shirts that said “Event Staff”, “Security”, and “Volunteer” are the ones that deserve all of the credit. I was blessed to be the leader of an amazing staff this year that just blew me away. Luckily many of them plan to return next year to make an even better 2012 staff!

The crew for AgapeFest 2012 is already starting to take shape. We have had meetings to discuss this past year and next year and I have officially handed off the torch. I have left the festival in good hands and think that the leaders of next year will take the festival to an even higher level!

Please continue to support AgapeFest in future years. They may not be able to book your favorite band every year but AgapeFest will always be a ministry and never a for-profit venture.

Thank you so much everyone. You all will always hold a special place in my heart as AgapeFest 2011.

Many of our AgapeFest 2011 artists are nominated for Dove Awards at this years 42nd Annual ceremony. Several artists are even running against each other in a couple of categories. We have included the nominees from several categories below, but you can find the full list of nominees on the Dove Awards website. Cheer for Chris August, Lecrae, Third Day, Tenth Avenue North, NEEDTOBREATHE, Sidewalk Prophets and Group1Crew. The 42nd Annual Dove Awards will be taped live at the Fox Theatre on Wednesday, April 20 and will air on gmc Easter Sunday, April 24 at 7 p.m. EST.
